Tailplane attachment area

The region of the rear fuselage where the horizontal and the vertical tailplane are attached, for a conventional tail of medium- and long-range aircraft. The vertical tailplane is attached to reinforced frames; the horizontal tailplane is attached to two reinforced frames, by two bolts on its hinge line and by the trim actuator in front of them. It passes through a cut-out of the fuselage that allows its full trim range and is reinforced by a framework of beams and rods. The attachment pins themselves belong to the tailplanes (attachmentPinType).

Layout

<tailplaneAttachmentType> selects one of two layouts of the forward attachment of the horizontal tailplane, Type1 and Type2; their geometry is not specified yet.
