stringerType

A stringer is a longitudinal stiffener of the skin: the profile of a structural element swept along a path on the surface of the fuselage. The path runs from the first position (stringerFramePositionType) to the second and on to each further position in the order given, along the fuselage between two positions. A stringer has at least two positions, usually at the same <referenceAngle>; where they differ, the stringer turns around the fuselage between them, e.g. to follow a tapering tail.

Example

The stringer at 45° of the barrel shown in fuselageStructureType runs from the first frame at x = 7 m to the last at x = 9.5 m. The stringers at 225° and 240°, which meet the cargo door, are split into two stringers each, one ending at the frame in front of the door and one starting at the frame behind it.
