Skin panel

A skin panel is a part of the skin that has a sheet of its own, e.g. a thicker skin around a door or along the bottom of the fuselage. It is bounded by two frames and two stringers and may span several bays between them; the smallest panel is one bay between neighbouring frames and stringers.

Extent

Along the fuselage, the panel extends from the frame <startFrameUID> to the frame <endFrameUID>. Around the fuselage, it extends from the stringer <startStringerUID> in the direction of increasing <referenceAngle> (stringerFramePositionType) to the stringer <endStringerUID>. The order of the two stringers therefore selects one of the two parts of the circumference between them: from a stringer at 315° to one at 45°, the panel covers the top of the fuselage over 90°; from 45° to 315°, it covers the other 270°.

Barrel of a fuselage between x = 7 and 9.5 m developed into the plane, referenceAngle horizontal and x vertical: six frames at a pitch of 0.5 m, of which the frame at 8 m is interrupted by the cargo door between 210 and 255 degrees, 24 stringers every 15 degrees, of which those at 225 and 240 degrees end at the door, and three skin panels, the crown panel from 315 across 0 to 45 degrees, the keel panel and the door surround; the rest of the skin is the standard sheet

In the barrel of the figure, the crown panel runs from the stringer at 315° across 0° to the stringer at 45°, the keel panel from 135° to 210°, and the door surround from 210° to 270°, between the first and the fifth frame. The example of skinType shows the crown panel.

Without <endStringerUID>, the extent around the fuselage is not yet specified.
