controlSurfaceHingePointType

The hinge point lies in the section of the wing at the leading edge position etaLE of the border. Through the point of the chord surface of the component segment at this η and at hingeXsi, a straight line runs along the normal of the chord surface of the component segment; the hinge point lies on this line at the relative height hingeRelHeight between the lower (0) and the upper (1) surface of the wing, and is then moved by translation:

P_hinge = P_lower + h (P_upper - P_lower) + t

where P_lower and P_upper are the points of the lower and the upper surface on the line, h the relative height and t the translation in the wing coordinate system. hingeXsi and hingeRelHeight range from 0 to 1; translation can move the hinge point out of the wing, e.g. below it for a flap on a track.
