cabinGeometryType

The cabin geometry describes the space available for the cabin of a deck, roughly the inside of the fuselage less its lining. It is given by contour lines of constant height, which all share the vector <x>. The cabin is symmetric to the x-z plane of the deck.

The cabin geometry is not derived from the fuselage or its structure; it has to be updated when they change.

Contours

Each contour lies at the height <z> above the floor and gives with <y> the distance of the cabin wall from the x-z plane of the deck, i.e. half the width of the cabin, at every value of <x> (cabinGeometryContourType). All values are given in the deck coordinate system.

The figure shows the five contours of the example below. In the section at x = 7.2 m (a), each contour gives one point on each side of the cabin wall: y is 1.430 m at the height of 1.0 m and 1.160 m at 1.5 m. Seen from the side (b), every contour runs from the rear wall of the cockpit through the same values of x, spaced 0.8 m apart.

Rules

<x> is ascending.
Every <y> has as many values as <x>.
The contours are ordered by ascending <z>.

Example

The cabin of the example deck is the space inside a lining of 0.1 m, from the rear wall of the cockpit to the rear wall of the aft galley, with contours at the floor and 0.5 m, 1.0 m, 1.5 m and 2.0 m above it. The first two contours are shown:
