A generic system represents aircraft systems from a geometric and mass perspective. It consists of physically existing components of the aircraft and can therefore be used to derive system-level weight and balance properties.

Each component references a predefined system element or, alternatively, a rotor element. Components do not need to be fully positioned. If no transformation element is defined, the component is considered unpositioned and is not taken into account when evaluating the global center of gravity.
